Egypt

Egypt is a republic with a developing economy in Northern Africa.
Egypt’s archaeological wonders have attracted millions of tourists to the pyramids, temples, sphinx, mosques as well as the great monuments of the Nile Valley and the wonders of the resorts of the Red Sea.
The pyramids of Giza, the astonishingly beautiful temples of Karnak, ancient Luxor or the painted tombs in the Valley of the Kings can still be visited today.
The life-giving Nile irrigates the fields adjacent to villages on its banks.
Whether on a cruise ship or traditional felucca, life on the water is a constant visual feast, while the few huge, dusty cities – Cairo, Alexandria, Aswan and Luxor – are a babble of exotic sounds and smells.
The Red Sea is a diver’s delight offering an underwater world of Technicolor corals and fish.

Clothing/Packing: Generally throughout the year casual comfortable clothing is worn, cottons and linens are the best materials to pack and comfortable walking shoes are essential. Depending on the itinerary you choose we will provide you with an appropriate suggested clothing list, however, sun block, hats, sunglasses, binoculars, a travel alarm clock, a small flashlight and insect repellent are a must. Egypt is a Muslim country so conservative dress is appropriate. When visiting churches and mosques men should not wear shorts and women should not wear shorts, mini-skirts or tank tops. In fact it is inadvisable for women to wear anything short or sleeveless unless on the beach or by a pool.

Tipping: Tipping is discretionary, however in Egypt “Baksheesh” is almost expected. Carry small bills with you and don’t let it upset you. It is an integral part of daily life in Egypt.
