Samburu Game Lodge is located about 192 miles north of Nairobi on the hot and arid fringes of the vast northern region of Kenya. The lodge is nestled within the lands of the colorful Samburu pastorals, the Samburu National Reserves, the adjoining Buffalo Springs, and Shaba National Reserves.
The life-line of these three sanctuaries, the palm-fringed Uaso Nyiro River, attracts vast and varied herds of game and abundant birdlife to its cool, riverine forest. Many of the area’s indigenous species, including gerenuk, oryx, and Reticulated giraffe, are rarely found elsewhere in Kenya.
There is no better place to spend your few days in Kenya's northern game sanctuaries than Samburu, the area's first ever game lodge. All accommodations, including cottages, twin, and single rooms boast a front-row seat facing the river. There are many activities available to fill the hours between adventurous game drives, including traditional Samburu dances, guided bird walks, and the refreshing swimming pool.
