Spend a day at leisure in Cape Town and enjoy the many optional attractions and activities available in this magnificent city. Day 2: Lambert's Bay (B) - 155 Mi
Today you meet your crew. Departing from the lodge after the pre-departure meeting, we head up the coast past the West Coast National Park to Lamberts Bay, an attractive fishing town on an unspoilt stretch of coastline. Particularly spectacular in spring, when the masses of wild flowers bloom, turning the entire region into a yellow, red and orange maze. Breakfast from lodge.

Day 3: Namibia, The Fish River Canyon (B,L) - 403 Mi
Today we'll cross over into Namibia as we head for the awesome Fish River Canyon. The west Coast region is known for its spectacular display of spring flowers (September), when the masses of blooming wild flowers turn the entire region into a yellow, red and orange maze. After border formalities, we head through the barren Richtersveld and on to one of the most staggering sights in Africa - the Fish River Canyon. This 100 mile long ravine is second only to the Grand Canyon in size. Time permitting, we'll take in the sunset at a canyon viewpoint.

Day 4: Fish River Canyon & Aus (B,L) - 217 Mi
This morning head to the Canyon and partake in an optional walk along the rim. After a great morning of viewing, we proceed on to the Aus Region.

Days 5 & 6: Namib Naukluft National Park (B) - 310 Mi
After breakfast continue on through the Aus region where if you’re luck you might spot the famed wild desert horses. We’ll then head north toward the Namib Naukluft National Park and the giant sand dunes of Sossusvlei. One of the world s oldest deserts, it offers over 130 million years of natural wonder and some of the highest sand dunes in the world!
Leave early in the morning on day 6 and climb dune 45 for stunning aerial views of the surrounding desert before proceeding on to Sossusvlei and the 2x4 parking area. From here it is approximately 3 miles walk to the vlei where you'll be free to explore on your own or take part in an optional guided walk (not included). Be sure to take advantage of the stunning photo opportunites around this area. As you head back to the lodge, stop off at the impressive Sesriem Canyon.

Days 7 & 8: Swakopmund (B, L) - 235 Mi
Spend two nights in the delightful Bavarian-style town of Swakopmund, situated snugly between sea and desert. Feel free to explore at your leisure or take part in the many optional activities available. Great beaches, deep-sea fishing, quad-biking, dune-boarding, flights over the desert, plus an array of shops, bars and restaurants combine for a lovely experience. This is also a chance to catch up on laundry, banks and communication (internet facilities available).

Days 9 & 10: Etosha National Park (B,L) - 365 Mi
Leaving Swakopmund we journey via Namibia's awesome moonscape scenery of Spitzkoppe. The mountains and granite mounds provided a home to the San people for thousands of years. We arrive at the world famous Etosha National Park, ready for our big game safari experience.
Dominated by shimmering white saltpans and arid bush vegetation, the area provides opportunities to view elephant as well as black rhino, lion and leopard. Most camps have floodlit water holes, which make for excellent after dinner game viewing, as well as swimming pools for cooling off during the heat of the day.
Dependent on the season, we will spend either the first or the last night within Etosha (the second is spent at a lodge in the greater Etosha area).

Day 11: Waterberg National Park (B) - 160 Mi
We leave Etosha bound for the stunning Waterberg Plateau National Park. The area is rich in historical significance as it was the site of the war between the Germans and the Hereros in the early 20th century. It now serves as a haven for many endangered species and is renowned for its incredible rock formations and walks. Enjoy your time in the Waterberg at leisure, or partake in optional game drives and walks.

Day 12: Windhoek (B) - 110 Mi
This morning depart the picturesque Waterberg Plateau region and head to Namibia’s capital, Windhoek. This small city, nestled between the hills, boasts many areas of historical interest. Spend the afternoon at leisure, visit the local museum or haggle at the street side
markets.
As the vehicle will be continuing on from here, please make sure that all of your belongings are removed from it.
